Benefits of Chroma Therapy

As we continue our descent into colder weather and the inevitable cold and flu season, we thought this week would be great to discuss the benefits of Chroma Therapy. We sat down with Kathy Rutt, Showroom Operations Manager, to learn more about this unique way to fight back against cold and flu season...and anything else 2020 throws our way!

Chroma Therapy is the use of specific colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that reset imbalances in the body that may lead to disease. Different colors possess frequencies of a specific vibration, and each vibration can be related to different physical symptoms. Benefits of using Chroma Therapy are mental, emotional, physical and often spiritual.

Below are the colors commonly used in chroma therapy.

  • Red- Believed to relieve sore muscles and pain.

  • Orange- Believed to help with asthma and other bronchial troubles.

  • Yellow- Believed to purify the skin and strengthen the nervous system.

  • Green- Believed to create a neutral, calming atmosphere.

  • Blue- Believed to reduce stress, aid in migraine/headache relief and create a tranquil environment.

  • Violet- Believed to have meditative qualities that help relax the nervous system and sooth organs.

According to Kathy, “The color vibrations help to improve your mood and overall health. For example, turquoise or blue lights are often used in spas or resorts to promote relaxation, reduce stress and create a serene environment. I find it to be a very mesmerizing and soothing experience, especially after a long day at work.”

Chroma Therapy can be added to your bathtub or shower and lucky for you, Studio H2O offers a variety of brands with Chroma Therapy features. Kohler, Jason and Aquatic all offer it in their air, whirlpool and soaking tubs. Nothing sounds more relaxing than soaking in the tub while taking in all the benefits of different light frequencies.

The lights are installed in the tub, just as jets or any other hydrotherapy option. With the simple touch of a button the lights can be set to glow a specific color or rotate through each color in a sequence while you bathe.

“If you’re not a bath person, don’t worry, you can still get all the great benefits of Chroma therapy in your shower,” said Kathy. “Consider adding a stunning rain machine with Chroma Therapy to not only enhance the aesthetic of your bathroom but enhance your health as well.”

Both Kohler and Jaclo offer rain machine options for the shower that have integrated chroma therapy lights. Not only will you feel like you’re showering in the rain, but you’ll also be warding off any nasty effects of cold and flu season.

Similar to the tubs, the chroma lights are installed within the rain head itself or via a panel that surrounds the rain head, so no need to add any extra lights to your shower itself. Once it's installed you can control your color options from the control panel that also runs your rain head and other shower fixtures.
