If our last post inspired you to order new countertops you’re probably wondering to yourself, “what happens next!?”. Bethany, one of our Kitchen and Bath Designers, breaks down the next steps of ordering your new countertops and how to prepare for the installation.
According to Bethany, “Once we’ve finalized the details of your new countertops including the color, edge profile, backsplash information, sink/faucet information, and quote, we are ready to move forward with the process.”
Depending on the scope of your project, we’ll need to make sure your cabinets are installed before we schedule the countertop template. It’s important for existing or new cabinets to be in place prior to scheduling a template because without cabinets, the templator won’t have anything to measure your countertop sizes against.
Our countertop fabricator (we work with two different local fabricators, Big Creek and Millennium) will send their templator to your home to digitally measure your project. This will create a precise template of your countertops that they will send back to their shop.
Once you have approved the layout, the fabricator will begin fabrication of your new countertop! Yay! This is a very interesting process that requires robotic saws, cool high powered water and skilled technicians to make your one of a kind countertop come to life.
As soon as your countertop is complete, the consultant working with you on your project will reach out to schedule a date to have the installers come install your countertop!
“Be sure to have your under mount sink on site during the countertop installation, if it isn’t already there from the time of the template, so it can get installed at the same time,” said Bethany.
We here at Studio H2O want to ensure you have a seamless experience from template to install. Whether you work with Bethany or any of our other amazing consultants, someone will be with you at each appointment to answer any questions you may have.
